The CEE machine shop specializes in the design and fabrication of custom fixtures, testing components, and precision parts, while assisting with the assembly of large-scale experimental setups through operation of 40-ton, 20-ton, and 10-ton cranes and specialized lifting equipment.
The shop houses an X-ray imaging room, which supports instructional activities, forensic investigations, and quality control of various materials and structural assemblies. The shop also provides expertise in instrumentation, tooling, and servohydraulic and equipment repairs. In addition, the shop staff train users with safe operation of power tools, hydraulic systems, and general project construction.
