Studying Elastic Properties of Concrete with Vibrational Resonance

This project employed mechanical (uniaxial compression) and non-destructive (UPV and resonant frequency) tests to evaluate Young's modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio of concrete. This research attempted to explain the difference between the modulus of elasticity obtained by non-destructive vs. mechanical tests. Concrete specimens varied from water/cement ratio (w/c) to aggregate type. This research aimed to provide evidence that the difference is due to the nature of the concrete.
