Hydraulic Equipment

The Newmark Structural Engineering Lab (NSEL) has both manually controlled and servo-controlled hydraulic equipment.

The manually controlled hydraulic equipment includes hydraulic actuators with capacities ranging from 10 to 150 tons and strokes ranging from 5 in to 22 in. These actuators can be supported by electric and manual pumps. For more information, see Manually Controlled Hydraulic Equipment.

The servo-controlled hydraulic equipment have nominal ratings ranging from 2.5 kips to 100 kips and strokes ranging from 6 in to 20 in. These are supported by a hydraulic power supply with a pressure of 3000 psi (20.7 MPa) and an oil flow rate of 90 gpm. NEES hydraulic equipment is supported by a hydraulic power supply with a pressure of 3000 psi (20.7 MPa) and an oil flow rate of 120 gpm.
